The Orchestra (For Now)

The Orchestra (For Now) is a London-based English rock band formed in early 2023, known for their art rock and progressive rock style. The seven-piece group is made up of Joseph (Joe) Scarisbrick (vocals, keyboards), Neil Thomson (guitar), Bill Bickerstaff (guitar), Lingling Bao-Smith (violin), Isobel Nisbett (bass), Erin Snape (cello), and Charlie Hancock (drums). They quickly made a name for themselves on the live circuit, especially at The Windmill venue, and won the 2024 Green Man Rising competition at the Green Man Festival. Their debut single, "Wake Robin," came out in November 2024, followed by the singles "Skins" and "The Strip," which together with "Wake Robin" form their 2025 EP *Plan 75*. Their sound has drawn comparisons to acts like Black Country, New Road, Geordie Greep, and Arcade Fire, thanks to their dynamic, ambitious blend of rock with orchestral elements.

Known for their carefully arranged and dynamic live performances, The Orchestra (For Now) craft songs that work both on stage and in the studio, often incorporating unique sonic details and effects. Despite their rapid rise and seven-member lineup, they emphasize collaboration and the collective contribution to songwriting and the band's identity. Their debut EP captures the darker tones of their early compositions and marks the beginning of what they aim to be a big year of touring, festival appearances, and eventually recording a full album.
