The Guru Josh Project is an electronic dance music collective best known for its worldwide smash hit "Infinity," commonly referred to as "Infinity (2008)." The project was initially formed by British musician and entertainer Paul Walden, who performed under the moniker Guru Josh. Born in Jersey, Channel Islands, on June 6, 1964, Paul Walden's early forays into music began in the 1980s, but it was the 1990 rave scene that saw him make his most significant impact.
Initially released in 1990, "Infinity" became an emblematic track of that era, combining acid house rhythms with memorable saxophone riffs. However, it was the rebranded and re-released version in 2008, titled "Infinity 2008," that brought the Guru Josh Project to global prominence. The reworked version, produced in collaboration with DJ Klaas, revitalized the original's sound for a new generation, topping charts around the world. The project's follow-ups continued to explore electronic landscapes, with tracks like "Crying in the Rain," "Eternity," and a variety of remixes from various DJs. The Guru Josh Project's sound is characterized by its compelling blend of electronic beats and melodies, transcendent atmospheres, and a penchant for incorporating diverse influences, as demonstrated in tracks like "Arabian Nights." Despite this, the legacy of the Guru Josh Project remains indelibly tied to that of "Infinity," which remains a timeless anthem across dancefloors and a nostalgic nod to the era that birthed it. Sadly, Paul Walden passed away in 2015, but his music continues to resonate with fans across the globe.
