Dinosaur Pile-Up

Dinosaur Pile-Up is a British alternative rock band that emerged with a gritty, hook-laden sound reminiscent of '90s grunge and punk. Formed in Leeds in 2007 by singer and guitarist Matt Bigland, the band's moniker is a reference to a scene from the 2005 remake of "King Kong." They solidified their presence in the rock scene with the release of their debut album "Growing Pains" in 2010, which showcased their raw energy and knack for catchy melodies. Over the years, the band has seen several lineup changes but has remained centered around the creative direction of Bigland, who has been the primary songwriter and constant member.

Dinosaur Pile-Up continued to build their reputation as stalwarts of new-age British rock with subsequent albums, including "Nature Nurture" (2013) and "Eleven Eleven" (2015), which further refined their sound with heavier riffs and anthemic choruses. Their fourth studio album, "Celebrity Mansions" (2019), marked a milestone in their career with its punchy, infectious tracks like "Back Foot" and "Thrash Metal Cassette," garnering positive reviews for its energetic execution and clever lyricism. With an unapologetic nod to the bands that paved the way for alternative rock, Dinosaur Pile-Up has carried the torch forward, combining nostalgic influences with a modern twist, endearing them to fans of gritty, loud, and unabashed rock 'n' roll.
