Leo Blech (1871–1958) was a German conductor and composer, best known for his work in opera and orchestral music. Born in Aachen, he studied composition in Berlin and quickly became a respected maestro, conducting at major opera houses across Europe, including the Berlin State Opera and the Royal Opera House in Stockholm. Blech was particularly admired for his interpretations of Wagner and Verdi, and he also composed operas and orchestral works of his own. Despite facing challenges due to his Jewish heritage during the Nazi era, he continued his career successfully and remained a significant figure in the classical music world until his passing.
