Paradox

Paradox is a German thrash metal band formed in 1986 by guitarist and vocalist Charly Steinhauer and drummer Axel Blaha. Hailing from Würzburg, the band quickly gained traction in the underground metal scene with their high-energy riffs and melodic sensibility, which set them apart from other thrash bands of the era. Their debut album, Product of Imagination (1987), received critical acclaim and helped establish their reputation within the European metal community.

Over the years, Paradox has released several albums blending classic thrash aggression with progressive and power metal elements. Notable releases include Heresy (1989), the concept-driven Heresy II – End of a Legend (2021), and the politically charged Ballot or Bullet (2023). Despite lineup changes and periods of hiatus, Charly Steinhauer has remained the driving force behind the band's music and vision. With their razor-sharp guitar work and socially conscious lyrics, Paradox continues to deliver relevant and powerful metal well into their decades-long career.
