Dr Nel, whose real name was Molimisi Baaitsi, was a popular South African musician from Lephalale, Limpopo, known for blending African rhythms with Kizomba, an Angolan musical style. His music, characterized by a lively fusion of traditional and modern African sounds, won him a devoted following across South Africa. Dr Nel was celebrated for his compelling lyrics and electrifying live performances that deeply connected with his audience.

Tragically, Dr Nel passed away in early November 2025 under violent circumstances shortly after performing at a local event, which shocked and saddened the Limpopo community profoundly. His sudden death has led to an ongoing police investigation, and he is mourned as one of Limpopo’s brightest musical stars. Dr Nel's most recent works, including songs like "Kuzolunga," "Still Shine," and "December Ake Sale," continue to highlight his vibrant style and contribution to the South African music scene.
