Tânia Maya is a Brazilian singer and composer from São Paulo. She holds a degree in Letters, including Licentiate and Bachelor's degrees in Portuguese and English Literature. Tânia began her career in 1991 as part of the Companhia dos Menestréis, led by her former husband Oswaldo Montenegro. She participated in various theater productions and soundtracks for films and albums by Montenegro. Her solo debut, "Dedicatória" (2000), featured compositions by Oswaldo Montenegro, expressing her gratitude for the artistic influences she received from him. Tânia's second album, "Tânia Maya" (2003), presented a blend of New Age, World Music, and MPB, showcasing a unique sound. She has collaborated with renowned composers like Corciolli and has participated in projects such as "Música em Família."
