YOURCODENAMEIS:MILO

YOURCODENAMEIS:MILO was an influential post-hardcore band that made waves in the British music scene in the early to mid-2000s with their experimental sound and collaborative ethos. Formed in 2002 in Washington, Tyne and Wear, the quintet consisted of vocalist Paul Mullen, guitarists Justin Lockey and Adam Hiles, bassist Jonny Pilcher, and drummer Shaun Abbott. Their debut EP, "All Roads To Fault" (2004), introduced their intricate and compelling blend of angular guitar riffs, complex rhythms, and an intense vocal delivery. The release set the table for a promising trajectory in the underground rock circuit.

The band’s first full album, "Ignoto" (2005), released through Fiction/Polydor Records, saw them shifting towards a more ambitious and electronic-tinged sound, with "They Came From The Sun" (2007) further refining this direction to critical acclaim. Although less commercially successful than some of their contemporaries, YOURCODENAMEIS:MILO were lauded for their willingness to push the boundaries of their genre. Perhaps one of their most adventurous projects was "Print Is Dead Vol. 1" (2006), which featured collaborations with artists across various music genres, highlighting their innovative, community-centric approach to music-making. This collaborative venture solidified the band’s reputation as a creative force unbounded by the conventional frameworks of their genre. However, despite their artistic growth and a fervent fan base, the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2007, leaving a legacy of innovation and a discography that continues to inspire post-hardcore and alternative rock aficionados.
