Mudi Sama is a British-born, Nigeria-raised artist known for his rich alternative sound, blending raw, poignant vocals with guitar-driven indie rock. Influenced by bands like Bloc Party, Radiohead, and The Strokes, he emerged from a time when few Black voices were present in the predominantly white UK guitar scene, drawing inspiration from trailblazers such as Kele Okereke and Dev Hynes to become a role model for the next generation of artists. His music reflects a distinctly British tone infused with global ambition, evident in tracks like “Bad Life,” “Jealous Type,” and “Pretty Soon.”
His debut EP *Will I Make It Out Alive?* (2025) showcases a mix of introspective songwriting and gritty, on-edge soundscapes, exploring themes of rebellion, self-discovery, and growing up between cultures. Mudi Sama has built a reputation for emotionally charged performances and is poised to make his mark on the UK indie scene, having recently played at Outbreak Festival and scheduled to perform on the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading & Leeds Festival.
