Pretty Maids

Pretty Maids is a Danish hard rock/heavy metal band that burst onto the scene in the early 1980s, forging a sound that combined the melodic elements of hair metal with the hard-hitting edge of classic heavy metal. Formed in Horsens, Denmark, in 1981 by vocalist Ronnie Atkins and guitarist Ken Hammer, they achieved moderate success in Denmark and other parts of Europe, but it was the 1987 release of their album "Future World" that truly put them on the map internationally. This album, with its perfect blend of melodic hooks and heavy riffs, remains one of the band's most celebrated works to this day.

Over the years, Pretty Maids have established themselves as a stalwart in the metal community, showcasing a remarkable talent for musical evolution while remaining true to their roots. They have released a number of albums, with some of the latest being "Kingmaker" in 2016, delivering a mix of heavy riffs and catchy melodies that have become the band's trademark, and "Undress Your Madness" in 2019, which continued their legacy with powerful vocals and robust guitar work. The band also commemorated the 30th anniversary of their seminal album with the release of "Maid in Japan - Future World Live 30 Anniversary," capturing the raw energy and dynamic performance capabilities that have defined their enduring career. Despite facing challenges, including Atkins' battle with cancer, the Pretty Maids' commitment to their music and their fans remains unwavering, and they continue to be revered by a loyal fan base as icons of their genre.
