The Kilans

**The Kilans** are a Salt Lake City indie rock band that formed in 2023, fronted by Jack Ongman on vocals and rhythm guitar, with Jacob Shultz on lead guitar, Cooper Brezoff on bass, and David Wiseman on drums. It all kicked off when Jack and Jacob bonded over skateboarding in college and started jamming, pulling in their In-N-Out co-worker pals Cooper and David—mutual friends who clicked instantly over music. Their raw, intense live shows and DIY vibe, channeling early Strokes-era energy with backyard pops-ups and rooftop sessions, quickly built a buzz, especially after debut single "Curly" and the viral hit "Why Is It Light Out?" that racked up millions of views and Spotify playlist love.

They've been dropping fire like "Haunt Me," "Red Couch," "In Transit," "BGR," "Mr. Smith," and "Colonel"—the latter diving into Jack's tough teen years at military school in Missouri, blending explosive riffs with softer, darker ballads about anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and more. Their upcoming album, recorded in just seven days at BLVD Recording Studio in Hollywood with producer Kyle Henderson, promises a mature, collaborative evolution from surf-rock roots inspired by The Growlers and The Buttertones toward emotional indie territory—now signed to Mom + Pop and hitting tours from SF to LA.
