Maggie Andrew is a Halifax-born, Los Angeles-based alt-pop singer-songwriter known for her innovative fusion of punk, melodic rap, R&B, and indie rock influences. Growing up in the small community of Waverley, Nova Scotia, Maggie was inspired to pursue music by her older brother, Trevor Andrew, who is also a musician and artist. She began playing guitar at age 12 and made a bold move to LA to record music after a promising start sharing songs with her brother. Maggie first gained widespread attention in 2021 through her collaboration with blackbear on the track "Sleep 4Ever," which has amassed over 2 million streams. Since then, she has worked with notable producers and artists like Ash Riser, Doc McKinney, and YetiBeats, earning coverage in Rolling Stone, Billboard, and CBC, and accumulating millions of streams globally.
Her music is praised for its raw honesty and genre-blending style, which she refers to as "(s)alt-pop." Maggie has won several awards, including the SOCAN x Sirius XM Young Canadian Songwriters Award (2021) and the 2024 CBC Searchlight contest, along with multiple ECMA and Music Nova Scotia awards. After years in LA, she has returned to Nova Scotia where she continues to grow her artistry, supported by a tight-knit creative community. Her debut EP "Day Job" and recent releases like "Better Than You" and "Hurt Myself" showcase her ability to write vulnerably and connect deeply with listeners, all while keeping things real and fun.
