Whitney K

Whitney K is the musical project of Canadian-born songwriter Konner Whitney, known for his agile lyricism and a gritty baritone that blends cool detachment with deep emotional resonance. With roots in a raw, country rock and folk sound infused with magical realism, Whitney K's music captures a sense of existential yearning and vivid storytelling. After a series of cassette releases, the project gained attention with the acclaimed 12” debut *Two Years* (2020) on Maple Death Records, followed by the orchestral EP *Hard to be a God* (2022) and the live album *Vivi* (2023), showcasing a dynamic blend of rock, pop, and folk elements.

Konner Whitney collaborates closely with band members Josh Boguski, Avalon Tassonyi, and Michael Halls, producing a sound that remains unpolished yet luminously resonant. Their most recent album, *Bubble* (2025), produced in a Montreal home studio, continues to explore raw yet refined arrangements with unmistakable poetic gravity. Whitney K's music evokes comparisons to Lou Reed and the spirit of country blues, with notable tracks like “Jolene,” “Heaven,” and “Rosy” exemplifying his knack for intimate, detailed songwriting that resonates on both emotional and existential levels.
