Rintaro Akamatsu

Rintaro Akamatsu is a renowned Japanese pianist known for his exceptional talent and versatility in classical and classical crossover music. He began his musical journey at a very young age, starting piano and violin lessons at two and cello at six. By the age of five, he made his TV debut, and by ten, he performed Mozart's concerto with his original cadenza. Akamatsu gained international recognition in 2000 when he won third prize at the Clara Schumann International Piano Competition. He has studied under esteemed musicians and has performed with prestigious orchestras worldwide, including the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra. His recordings have received critical acclaim, and he serves as a jury member for several international piano competitions. Akamatsu is also a prolific educator, teaching at institutions like Osaka College of Music and mentoring over 1,000 musicians.
