Ekpyrosis

Ekpyrosis is an Italian death metal band formed in 2013 in Milan. The band consists of Nicko on guitar and vocals, Mark on guitar and vocals, Ilaria "Jo" on drums, and Marco (known as "M.") on bass. Ekpyrosis is heavily influenced by the U.S. death metal tradition, drawing inspiration from bands like Incantation, Immolation, and Autopsy. Their music is characterized by a low-end guitar sound, frequent tempo changes, and a dual vocal approach featuring both guttural and harsh vocals. The band has released several notable albums, including "Asphyxiating Devotion," which received positive reception in the extreme metal underground. Their writing process typically involves individual development of song ideas, followed by collaborative refinement during rehearsals. Ekpyrosis has worked with Carlo Altobelli at Toxic Basement Studio for recording and mixing, and their artwork often features dark, macabre themes.
