Lucas Harris

Lucas Harris is a versatile musician based in Toronto, known for his work as a lutenist and conductor. He has a diverse career, performing on a range of historical plucked instruments, including Renaissance and Baroque lutes, guitars, and more. Lucas is the regular lutenist for the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and has worked with numerous other ensembles, such as the Smithsonian Chamber Players and the Helicon Foundation. He is also the Artistic Director of the Toronto Chamber Choir, a position he has held since 2014, and has conducted a variety of themed concert programs. Additionally, Lucas is involved in teaching, lecturing, and musical research, with a particular focus on Renaissance and Baroque repertoire.

Lucas's educational background includes studying early music at the Civica Scuola di Musica di Milano and the Hochschule für Künste Bremen. He has also been involved in projects highlighting the contributions of blind composers and has worked with various ensembles dedicated to early music and cultural music traditions, such as the Vesuvius Ensemble.
