Kelariz Keshavarz is an internationally acclaimed flutist known for her exceptional virtuosity and mastery of both classical and contemporary music. She is an Assistant Professor of Flute at Western Carolina University, where she fosters an inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore diverse musical traditions. Her career is marked by innovative projects, including the groundbreaking "Iranian New Waves" anthology, which showcases over fifty contemporary compositions by Iranian composers. This project reflects her dedication to promoting Iranian music despite cultural constraints. Additionally, her electroacoustic improvisations, "Minimpronics," highlight her innovative approach to musical expression.
Kelariz has performed at numerous festivals worldwide, including the Tehran Contemporary Music Festival and the World Flute Festival, and has collaborated with celebrated composers. Her discography includes notable releases such as "Abstractum," "Minimpronics," "Young Iranian Composers Project," and "Iranian New Waves, Vol. I." She co-founded Petrichor Records and serves as the artistic director of the PR Young Iranian Composers Project, further solidifying her role as a champion of contemporary music.
