Ólöf Arnalds is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Iceland, known for her ethereal vocals and introspective folk sound. A classically trained musician, she studied at the Iceland Academy of the Arts and has blended her academic background with a uniquely delicate style that draws from both traditional Icelandic music and contemporary folk-pop. She started her solo career in the mid-2000s after playing with experimental group Múm, and quickly gained international attention with her debut album, Við og Við, in 2007.
Over the years, Ólöf has released a string of captivating albums — including Innundir skinni and Sudden Elevation — which showcase her gift for crafting intimate, emotionally resonant songs. She's collaborated with fellow Icelandic artists like Björk and Skúli Sverrisson, and her music often features a warm blend of acoustic instruments and haunting melodies. Whether singing in Icelandic or English, Ólöf’s sound remains distinctively her own: poetic, minimalist, and deeply heartfelt.
