Vox Rea

Vox Rea is a Canadian indie pop quartet from Vancouver known for their lush, cinematic sound and moody yet danceable vibes. Originally formed as The Tourist Company in 2016 by siblings Kate and Lauren Kurdyak, along with Mitchell Broom and Emily Bach, the band rebranded as Vox Rea in 2021 to reflect their evolving artistry. Their music blends dark pop, synth textures, and orchestral flourishes, often exploring themes of existential dread, modern disconnection, and emotional resilience. Recent tracks like "Missed It By A Second" and "Grass" showcase their knack for pairing introspective lyrics with infectious hooks, while their self-titled 2021 EP solidified their signature blend of vulnerability and swagger. They’ve toured with acts like Half Moon Run and continue to carve out a space for their theatrical, genre-blurring sound in the indie landscape.
