Light This City

Light This City is a melodic death metal band hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, formed in the year 2002. Characterized by their blend of aggressive riffs, rapid-fire drumming, and the ferocious yet melodic vocal presence of frontwoman Laura Nichol, Light This City quickly established themselves within the metal community. Their music journey began with spirited enthusiasm as high school friends eager to make their stamp on the scene. The band achieved notable underground success with their early releases, with "The Hero Cycle" (2003) marking their debut full-length album that showcased youthful energy and potential.

As they honed their craft, Light This City released albums such as "Remains of the Gods" (2005), and "Facing the Thousand" (2006), each record garnering more acclaim and expanding their fanbase. "Stormchaser" (2008), continued to build on their momentum with its high-speed melodic death metal assault. After a hiatus, the band reformed and in 2018, they released "Terminal Bloom," a comeback album that was met with critical acclaim for its masterful execution and a matured sound that didn't betray their core identity. "A Grotesque Reflection" (2018) served as a standalone single demonstrating their undiminished intensity and complexity. The "Light This City - Digital Collection" is a testament to their evolution and enduring relevance in the metal genre, capturing their career-spanning oeuvre for both their longstanding fans and new listeners discovering their relentless sonic assault for the first time.
