Le Trio Joubran is an acclaimed Palestinian oud trio, consisting of the three brothers Samir, Wissam, and Adnan Joubran. Hailing from a family with a rich heritage in oud craftsmanship and musicianship, the brothers hail from the city of Nazareth in the Galilee. They have successfully brought a contemporary edge to the ancient Middle-Eastern tradition of oud playing, and their music is characterized by its emotional depth, intricate melodies, and rhythmic complexity.
Emerging onto the international music scene with their first album, "Randana," released in 2005, they swiftly gained a reputation for their soulful performances and their innovative collaborative projects. With subsequent releases such as "Majâz" and "Asfâr", Le Trio Joubran continued to push the boundaries of their instrument by blending elements of Eastern and Western music. Their album "The Long March," along with its evocative remix, is a powerful testament to their musical evolution and their commitment to addressing political and humanitarian issues through their art. The trio has also incorporated spoken word into their work, notably collaborating with the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwich in "À l'ombre des mots." Their contributions to film scores, such as "The Last Flight" original soundtrack, showcase their cinematic flair. By interweaving their ancestral craft with contemporary influences and global collaborations, Le Trio Joubran remains a poignant and innovative force in world music.
