Defiled Serenity

**Defiled Serenity** is a Finnish melodic death metal band hailing from Loimaa, formed in 2021 by vocalist Paavo Laapotti, best known as the frontman of Before The Dawn. Their sound channels the raw energy of 1990s melodeath legends like In Flames and Dark Tranquillity, blending chunky guitar work, guttural growls, and soaring melodies with modern production. The band released their debut album *Within the Slumber of the Mind* in February 2025 via Inverse Records, featuring singles like their aggressive take on Rihanna’s *Unfaithful* (with guest vocals from Sonja Lindberg) and *Your Worst Enemy*.
