Misaki Iwasa is a Japanese enka singer and former member of the popular idol group AKB48. Born in 1995 in Chiba Prefecture, she joined AKB48 as part of its 10th generation and quickly gained attention not only for her talent but also for her interest in traditional Japanese music. In 2012, she became the first AKB48 member to debut as a solo enka singer, releasing the single "Mujin Eki," which charted successfully and helped introduce enka music to a younger generation.
Since then, Iwasa has steadily carved out a name for herself in the enka world, earning respect for her mature vocal style and heartfelt performances. Her discography includes a number of singles such as "Sayonara no Natsu," "Gomenne Tokyo," and "Sado no Ondeko," showcasing her versatility and deep connection to Japan’s classic music traditions. While she graduated from AKB48 to focus on her solo career, Iwasa continues to be celebrated for bridging the gap between idol pop and traditional enka music.
