Gloria Cheng is a Grammy and Emmy Award-winning pianist based in Los Angeles. She's known for her adventurous interpretations of contemporary music and has been a preferred collaborator of composers like Pierre Boulez and Esa-Pekka Salonen. Cheng has performed as a soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and at prestigious festivals like Ojai and Tanglewood. She's also on the faculty at UCLA's Herb Alpert School of Music.
Cheng's work spans both classical and film music. She's premiered numerous works, including pieces by John Williams, and has released albums featuring music by contemporary composers. Her 2008 album "Piano Music of Esa-Pekka Salonen, Steven Stucky, and Witold Lutosławski" won a Grammy, and her film "Montage: Great Film Composers and the Piano" earned her an Emmy.
