Slagsmålsklubben

Slagsmålsklubben, commonly abbreviated as SMK, is a Swedish electronic music group formed in 2000. The band's unusual name, which translates as "The Brawl Club," is a nod to 'Fight Club' by Chuck Palahniuk. Known for their whimsical and melodic sound that blends chiptune-like elements with a more traditional electropop framework, their music incorporates playful melodies, synths, and energetic beats that often draw from the nostalgia of vintage video game soundtracks.

The members of Slagsmålsklubben, Beecher, Joni, Kungen, Viking, Hannes and Björn, met in the small town of Norrköping and rapidly gained a reputation in the Scandinavian electronic music scene. Their lively performances and upbeat tracks resonated with audiences beyond Sweden, attracting a Europe-wide fanbase. With a discography that includes hits such as "Snälla Tv Plz" and "Hit Me Hard," their more recent releases continue to reflect their distinctive style, characterized by a blend of humor, retro sounds, and a knack for catchy, synth-driven tunes. Through albums like "Den Svenske Disco" and the single "Sagan Om Konungens Arsinkomst," Slagsmålsklubben has demonstrated a consistent ability to inject fun and a sense of irreverence into their music that has kept them relevant in an ever-evolving musical landscape.
