Inkwizycja is a pioneering Polish hardcore/punk band that formed in 1989 in Kraków, spearheaded by Dariusz Eckert, who had previously been part of Ustawa o Młodzieży. They hold a significant place in Poland's punk scene as one of the earliest DIY punk acts, releasing the country's first DIY punk record, "...Na własne podobieństwo...", in 1991 on the independent label Nikt Nic Nie Wie, which was also Poland's first independent record label. Throughout the 1990s, Inkwizycja gained popularity within the Polish punk community and were known for their energetic and authentic punk spirit. Their music remains influential among fans of hardcore and punk in Poland.
Their recent releases such as "Transparent," "Okno," and "Krzyże" continue to reflect their hardcore roots and commitment to the punk ethos, maintaining a strong presence and relevance in Poland’s punk scene decades after their formation.
