knotlamp

knotlamp is a Japanese rock band that originated from Fukuoka, formed in December 2000. Initially, they were a four-member group searching for a vocalist, with KEIT originally playing guitar. They eventually self-produced their own music and gained recognition in the indie scene. In October 2007, knotlamp released their debut indie album, "Blind Side," which remarkably debuted at 4th on the Oricon charts, catapulting them to fame. They further solidified their position with the release of "Ghost of the freedom" in June 2008, which reached the top spot on the Oricon charts. Later, their single "LAST TRAIN –新しい朝-" became the opening theme for "Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's," gaining them national and international acclaim. knotlamp continued to release notable works such as "Bridges We've Dreamed" in 2011 before eventually going on hiatus.

Their music style spans genres like rock, alternative rock, pop rock, and more, often blending emotional depth with catchy melodies. Members include KEIT on vocals and guitar, MAHIRO on guitar and chorus, TOHRU on bass and chorus, and AKIHIKO on drums. During their active years, they were associated with labels such as Run Run Run Records and Imperial Records, with a significant career highlight being their indie success and mainstream recognition through anime themes. Their output ceased as they went into hiatus in 2013.
