Chelsea Grin is an American deathcore band hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, established in 2007. Known for their intense breakdowns and harrowing growls, the group took its name from the infamous Glasgow smile, a wound resulting in a scar shaped like a smile. Throughout their career, Chelsea Grin has undergone several lineup changes, with vocalist Alex Koehler being a longstanding figure until his departure in 2018. After Koehler left, Tom Barber took over vocal duties, bringing a new era to the band’s evolution.

Their aggressive sound and relentless touring have earned them a dedicated fan base within the metal community. Starting with a self-titled EP in 2008, Chelsea Grin released multiple albums that captured the raw essence of deathcore, with their 2011 album "My Damnation" receiving particular acclaim. Their more recent work continues to reflect their evolution as a band, experimenting with a broader range of sounds and lyrical themes. Songs like "Blind Kings" and "Bleeding Sun" from their 2020 releases have shown an ability to merge melody with the intensity that initially defined their sound, while EPs "Suffer in Hell" and "Suffer in Heaven" in 2022 demonstrate the relentless energy and technical proficiency that are hallmarks of Chelsea Grin's music.
