Anatoly Sheludyakov is a renowned Russian classical pianist and composer, born in 1955 in Moscow. He completed his doctoral studies at the Gnesin Institute of Music under Professor Anatoly Vedernikov and also graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied composition with Tikhon Khrennikov. Sheludyakov's career highlights include winning the Russian National Piano Competition in 1977 and being awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation in 1999. He has performed extensively in prestigious concert halls across Russia, the U.S., Europe, and other parts of the world, showcasing a repertoire that spans the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods. Additionally, he has recorded numerous CDs of piano and chamber music.
Currently, Anatoly Sheludyakov serves as an artist-in-residence at the University of Georgia and has been on the piano faculty there. He is also an active member of various music organizations and has taught students who have won awards in local and international competitions. His teaching philosophy emphasizes not just technical skill but also a deep appreciation for music history and style. Sheludyakov's recent releases reflect his diverse musical interests, featuring works by a range of composers from Haydn and Beethoven to Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev.
