Geckøs

Geckøs is a supergroup formed by acclaimed musicians M. Ward, Howe Gelb (of Giant Sand), and Irish multi-instrumentalist Mark McCausland (aka McKowski). Their collaboration sparked unexpectedly at a friend’s wedding in Tucson, Arizona, where McCausland was asked to create a first dance song. Joined by Ward and Gelb, the trio improvised what became the "Wedding Waltz," their first track and the foundation for their self-titled debut album. The project blends indie folk, Southwestern tones, Spanish influences, and subtle Irish mysticism, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of the members.

After their impromptu beginning, Geckøs expanded their creative process across continents, with recording sessions and mixing occurring in Tucson, Ireland, London, and Bristol. Their debut album, released in 2025 on Org Music and PIAPTK Records, showcases a unique chemistry and spontaneous spirit, featuring songs like "El Techno," "Lo Hice," and "Dance of the Gecko." The trio's work feels natural and unforced, a true meeting of three distinct musical voices discovering a new shared sound.
