X JAPAN

X Japan is a pioneering Japanese rock band formed in 1982 by childhood friends Yoshiki and Toshi in Chiba, Japan. Initially named X, they were one of the first and most influential visual kei bands, known for their striking makeup, elaborate costumes, and energetic performances. The band's music evolved from speed metal to a more symphonic metal sound, blending fast-paced rock with emotional ballads.

Throughout their career, X Japan has experienced both tremendous success and significant challenges. They've sold over 30 million records and played sold-out shows at the Tokyo Dome multiple times. After disbanding in 1997 and facing the tragic loss of guitarist hide in 1998, the group reunited in 2007. X Japan continues to be a major force in Japanese rock music, with their influence extending well beyond their home country.
