Doke, Fowler and Veale

Doke, Fowler and Veale are a talented trio of musicians from Athens, GA, who have come together to create a unique blend of acoustic instrumental guitar music. All members of the Rick Fowler Band, Michael Doke, Rick Fowler, and Greg Veale share a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship of Georgia’s Deadwood Guitar Company, which plays a central role in their sound. Their debut album, *Deadwood Guitar Sessions: Volume One*, showcases their skillful interplay and the rich tones of these custom-built guitars through minimalistic yet emotionally powerful compositions. Their instrumental music offers an intimate and dynamic listening experience, reflecting decades of musical experience and camaraderie among the members.

Michael Doke has been playing guitar for over 60 years and got his start in music as part of The Doke Brothers in the 1970s, a popular Atlanta band. Greg Veale has a history with The Normaltown Flyers and collaborations with notable acts such as R.E.M. and Drivin’ n’ Cryin’. Rick Fowler rounds out the group with a blues-rock background and a soulful singing and playing style. Together, they bring decades of experience and chemistry, having also performed extensively as part of the Rick Fowler Band, creating a "second family" through music. Their live performances, whether fully electric or acoustic like in their Deadwood sessions, are well-regarded for their energy and musicianship.
