Kirsten Te Rito is a multi-award-winning vocalist, songwriter, and music producer from Ngāti Kahungunu and Rongomaiwahine iwi. She is based in Wellington, where she has established herself as a respected figure in the local music scene. Kirsten's work often blends elements of jazz with Te Ao Māori, incorporating Te Reo Māori into her music. One of her notable projects, *Māreikura*, was commissioned by the Wellington Jazz Festival and explores the stories of Māori goddesses through a blend of jazz and traditional sounds. She frequently collaborates with her partner, pianist James Illingworth, and other prominent musicians from the Wellington scene.
