Nick Gravenites is an American blues and rock musician, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as a founding member of the psychedelic rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company, which he formed with Janis Joplin in 1965. Gravenites has also released several solo albums, including "My Labors" (1970), "Bluestar" (1974), and "Local Blues" (1980). His music is characterized by its raw, emotional intensity and its exploration of blues, rock, and folk influences.
