Sleep State is a UK-based alt-rock trio known for their high-energy blend of emo, pop-punk, and indie rock. Formed around 2017 by vocalist/guitarist Rory Letham, guitarist Sam Hughes, and drummer Josh Rayner, the band built a reputation for catchy hooks, introspective lyrics, and chaotic live shows that channel early-2000s nostalgia with a modern twist. Their 2021 EP *Making Up the Rules* and singles like *Awkward* and *Disco Destiny* showcase their knack for pairing relatable millennial angst with shout-along choruses. They’ve toured with acts like As It Is and graced stages at festivals like Slam Dunk, leaning into a DIY ethos while refining their mix of melodic vulnerability and rowdy, riff-driven energy.
