Krokus

Krokus is a Swiss hard rock band that emerged onto the international stage in the 1970s. Originating from the industrial town of Solothurn, the band was initially formed as a progressive rock group in 1975, but shifted towards a hard rock and heavy metal sound in the late 70s and early 80s under the influence of lead vocalist Marc Storace. This lineup change proved pivotal to their success, and they soon found their place among the pantheon of hard rock bands that dominated that era, drawing comparisons to acts like AC/DC due to their gritty, riff-driven music and raspy, powerful vocals.

Throughout their career, Krokus has experienced numerous lineup changes, but managed to maintain a consistent presence in the rock and metal scenes. The band achieved significant popularity with albums like 'Metal Rendez-vous' in 1980 and 'Headhunter' in 1983, which is widely considered their masterpiece, featuring the hit ballad "Screaming in the Night". Their most recent works such as "Hoodoo" (2010), "Dirty Dynamite" (2013), and their farewell live album "Adios Amigos Live @ Wacken" (2020) showcase their enduring ability to deliver high-voltage performances and produce classic hard rock with a contemporary twist. Despite announcing their retirement from extensive touring, Krokus has left a lasting legacy and continues to influence new generations of rock musicians.
