Thank You Scientist

Thank You Scientist is an American progressive rock band hailing from Montclair, New Jersey, known for their eclectic blend of progressive rock, jazz fusion, and experimental music. The group was formed in 2010 by guitarist Tom Monda, vocalist Sal Marrano, and a collective of like-minded musicians who sought to push the boundaries of genre definitions. Their music is distinguished by its complex arrangements and an expansive sonic palette, often incorporating a range of instruments uncommon in rock music, such as trumpets, saxophones, violins, and more.

The band first garnered significant attention with the release of their debut EP, "The Perils of Time Travel," in 2011, followed by their first full-length album, "Maps of Non-Existent Places," in 2012, which they re-released after signing to Evil Ink Records in 2014. They continued to build their reputation as a formidable act with the release of their sophomore album, "Stranger Heads Prevail," in 2016, and their third studio album, "Terraformer," in 2019. The latter is an ambitious double album that further cements Thank You Scientist's reputation for crafting detailed and dynamic compositions that reward multiple listens. Their virtuosic musicianship and lively stage presence have earned them a devoted fan base and recognition within the progressive music community.
