Chiodos

Chiodos was an American post-hardcore band hailing from Davison, Michigan, formed in 2001. Originally known as "The Chiodos Bros," the band's name was a nod to filmmakers Stephen, Charles, and Edward Chiodo. Their energetic and melodic sound, often characterized by intricate piano interludes, dynamic vocals, and a frenetic mix of thrashing guitars and emotive lyrics, made them standouts in the mid-2000s post-hardcore scene. The band's lineup went through several changes over the years but was anchored by founding member Craig Owens as the lead vocalist, whose voice became synonymous with the Chiodos sound.

The band's early works, such as "All's Well That Ends Well" (2005) and its deluxe edition, laid the groundwork for their rise in popularity within the alternative scene. Their sophomore album, "Bone Palace Ballet" (2007), and its subsequent reissue, "Bone Palace Ballet: Grand Coda," showcased the band's evolving musicianship and lyrical depth. Chiodos continued to innovate with subsequent releases like "Illuminaudio" (2010), introducing a new vocalist, Brandon Bolmer, after Owens' temporary departure. However, Owens returned for the band's fourth album, "Devil" (2014), which continued to deliver the group's signature post-hardcore energy coupled with a more matured sound. "Chiodos: The Essential Collection" serves as a distillation of their key tracks that resonate with fans both old and new. Despite their undeniable impact on the post-hardcore genre, Chiodos officially disbanded in 2016, leaving behind a legacy that continues to influence the alternative scene.
