Rotfront

Rotfront is a Berlin-based band, known for its vibrant and multicultural sound, which is a fusion of various music genres including klezmer, ska, reggae, and punk, infused with a strong Eastern European flavor. The band refers to their unique style as "Emigrantski Raggamuffin," which is also the title of their groundbreaking album released in 2009. This album not only defined their musical identity but also put them on the map as a force that celebrates cultural diversity and unity through music.

Formed in 2003 by Hungarian frontman Yuriy Gurzhy and Russian singer/guitarist Simon Wahorn, Rotfront quickly became synonymous with energetic live performances and an all-embracing sound that transcends traditional musical boundaries. The band's members hail from various parts of the world including Ukraine, Russia, Germany, and Hungary, which is reflected in their multilingual songs and eclectic sonic palette. Following the success of "Emigrantski Raggamuffin," Rotfront continued to craft their discography with releases such as "VisaFree" in 2011, which further expanded their international renown. Their most recent work, including "17 Deutsche Tänze" and the "1990s (Radio Edit)," continues to showcase their ability to blend nostalgic influences with contemporary sounds, assuring their place in the dynamic landscape of global music.
