Raimundo el Canastero

Raimundo el Canastero is a vibrant music band from Estella-Lizarra, Navarra, that formed in 2021. What started as a group of friends coming together to play rumbas and other styles for a one-time gig at the local gaztetxe quickly gained momentum, leading to growing demand for their performances across the region. The band’s sound draws on flamenco influences, featuring classic elements like palmas, guitar, and cajón, creating a lively and authentic atmosphere that has earned them a solid following in a short time.

The group includes members such as Mikel Beltza on saxophone and vocals, and Iban D’Urruti handling guitar and production. Their name, "Raimundo el Canastero," was chosen somewhat humorously because they felt they were bad at naming bands, even joking that they might have gone with "Kaparrak" if it hadn’t already been taken. Raimundo el Canastero has built an impressive repertoire, with songs like "Fandango Nasty," "Bizitzeko Gogoa," and "Mikel" becoming well-known among their fans. Their energetic performances and catchy tunes have made them a notable presence in the Navarra music scene since their debut.
