The Maile Serenaders were a Hawaiian studio band, not a permanent performing group. They were assembled for recording sessions and never performed live. The band typically featured renowned Hawaiian musicians and was led by musician/arranger Benny Kalama. Other regular members included Sonny Kamahele, Jimmy Kaopuiki, Sonny Nicholas, and Charles "Bud" Tuttle.
The group recorded several albums of traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music, including slack key and steel guitar instrumentals. Some of their notable releases include "Na Mele Hawai'i No Ka Keiki," "Slack Key & Steel Guitar" volumes I and II, and "Let's Hula".
