Richard Groenendijk

Richard Groenendijk is a Dutch cabaret artist, presenter, and writer who has built a diverse career across stage, radio, and television. Born on September 24, 1972, in Dirksland, he studied communication sciences in Rotterdam after growing up on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee. Groenendijk is known for his engaging live performances and a series of well-received solo shows, but he is also recognizable as the character Jopie Parlevliet and for his hosting roles, such as on the TV show *De Jopie Parlevliet Show* and the radio program *Spijkers met koppen*.

In addition to his work in comedy and presenting, Groenendijk has ventured into music, notably participating as a singer in the annual Dutch *The Passion* event in 2025 with the song "Zwart Wit," and contributing to other musical projects like "Proosten Op Het Leven" and "Maneschijn". His musical output often intertwines with his cabaret persona, and he has released carnival songs under his Jopie Parlevliet character.
