Gustavo Ripa

Gustavo Ripa is a renowned Uruguayan musician, guitarist, composer, and music producer. Born on August 13, 1959, in Salto, Uruguay, he has had a distinguished career that spans multiple roles. Ripa was a founding member of the groups Canciones para no dormir la siesta and Rumbo during the 1980s. He has worked as a session musician and has collaborated with prominent Uruguayan artists such as Laura Canoura, Jaime Roos, and Mauricio Ubal. Since 2010, he has focused on a successful solo career, releasing albums like *Calma*, *Más Calma*, *Calma 3*, and *SimpleMente*. These albums have gained significant recognition, earning him multiple golden and platinum discs as well as Grafitti awards.

In addition to his musical accomplishments, Gustavo Ripa is also a dedicated researcher and educator in sound therapy. He founded the *SomosSonido* project, which explores the therapeutic effects of music. Ripa currently uses an eight-string guitar crafted by Ariel Ameijenda and continues to produce music digitally. He has performed in various cities across South America and Europe, and he leads initiatives that link music to personal growth and well-being. Ripa's music often features intimate instrumental versions of popular Uruguayan and Latin American songs, inviting listeners into a space of calm reflection.
