Ripa was a founding member of the groups Canciones para no dormir la siesta and Rumbo during the 1980s. He has worked as a session musician and has collaborated with prominent Uruguayan artists such as Laura Canoura, Jaime Roos, and Mauricio Ubal. Since 2010, he has focused on a successful solo career, releasing albums like *Calma*, *Más Calma*, *Calma 3*, and *SimpleMente*. These albums have gained significant recognition, earning him multiple golden and platinum discs as well as Grafitti awards.
