Rado is a versatile guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist born in Madagascar, raised in New York City, and currently based in San Francisco. He is known for his eclectic musical style that blends pop, funk, and jazz influences. Rado was a founding member of the Philly-based indie band Fooling April, which opened for notable acts like The John Mayer Trio and Dido, and played at prominent events such as Philadelphia's Y-100 Feztival. After relocating to California, he took on guitar duties for several groups, including Black Nature and the Afro-Beat band Albino, as well as West African funk collective Wontanara Revolution. In the Bay Area, he leads the groove-focused quartet Stank Leg. and supports various singer-songwriters as a sideman, while also performing solo jazz, R&B, and bossa nova guitar sets featuring his original compositions.
Rado’s solo work, which was slated for release in early 2022, showcases his passion for blending diverse genres with a focus on groove and melody. His musical journey reflects a rich cross-cultural background and a deep commitment to collaborative and original music-making.
