Mosibuebä was a Swiss folk group rooted in Central Switzerland’s Ländlermusik tradition, formed in 1976 by brothers Paul and Alois Lüönd alongside their youngest sibling Daniel Lüönd. Initially starting as a Schwyzerörgeli (button accordion) trio, they expanded into a quintet with Daniel Gwerder and Philipp Schuler, specializing in traditional dance tunes passed orally between generations. The band’s repertoire included works by Josef Stump, Balz Schmidig, and their own compositions, all preserved through ear-based learning rather than written scores. Known for albums like *30 Jahre Mosibuebä* (2006) and *Vo früener bis hüt* (2013), they became synonymous with the Schwyzerörgeli style and helped sustain Switzerland’s folk heritage through live performances and recordings.
Active for decades, Mosibuebä’s sound embodied the Innerschwyz tradition, blending Alpine yodeling influences with energetic accordion arrangements. Their longevity and dedication earned them a lasting place in Swiss folk music history, particularly within the networks of yodel clubs and regional festivals.
