Marcelo Clayton

Marcelo Clayton was a prominent Brazilian singer and composer, particularly known for his contributions to the brega romântico genre. He was born in Timon, Maranhão, but his musical legacy is most closely associated with Marabá in the state of Pará. Clayton gained fame with hits like "Bandido" and "Nathaly," which became staples in the "Saudade" style parties in Belém and other cities in Pará, especially during the 1970s and 1980s. His music often captured the essence of passionate love and romance, resonating deeply with listeners in the region.

Some of his notable releases include "Lindo Romance" and "Sonhando Com Você," which reflect his ability to craft romantic and engaging songs. Unfortunately, Marcelo Clayton passed away on August 24, 2023, at the age of 74, while being treated for cirrhosis in a hospital in Marabá. He left behind a lasting legacy in Brazilian music, particularly in the brega genre, and is remembered for his distinctive voice and timeless hits.
