Kaly Live Dub

Kaly Live Dub is an electro-dub music band formed in 1995 in Lyon, France. Initially known as Kaly Calipso, they started out as a roots reggae band with a strong influence from Jamaican bands of the 1970s. Over time, they evolved their sound to incorporate electronic dub elements, featuring live sampling and a blend of styles influenced by artists like Amon Tobin and Massive Attack. The band's lineup includes Paul "Pilah" Kozmik on guitar, Eric Frascone (Five Keys) on bass, Stéphane Bernard (Uzul) on samplers, Mathieu 'Mat' Trouillet on drums and programming, and Thibault Louis on keyboards.

Kaly Live Dub is known for their dynamic live performances, which have been a hallmark of their career. They have released several albums and EPs, including "Electric Kool Aid," "Hydrophonic," "Repercussions," and "Lightin' the Shadows." Their music often combines dub and reggae with elements of techno and samples from traditional African, Indian, and Berber music, creating a unique and eclectic sound. The band has collaborated with other musicians, such as Rod Taylor and High Tone, and has been part of various musical projects and tours throughout their career.
