He is the nephew of the celebrated pan-pipe player Fănică Luca, who was instrumental in popularizing the nai globally. Damian Luca began his musical journey at a young age and was admitted to the Bucharest Music School at 13. He gained recognition through his performances at international festivals, including the World Festival of Youth and Students, where he won several awards. Luca has performed with notable ensembles like the Orchestra Barbu Lăutaru and Rapsodia Română, touring extensively across Europe and the United States. His contributions to Romanian folk music have earned him the title of Artist Emerit in Romania.
