Transatlantic

Transatlantic is a progressive rock supergroup that formed at the end of the 20th century, boasting a lineup of musicians from some of the genre's most respected bands. The band consists of Neal Morse, formerly of Spock's Beard, on keyboards and vocals; Roine Stolt of The Flower Kings on guitar and vocals; Pete Trewavas of Marillion on bass and vocals; and Mike Portnoy, formerly of Dream Theater and now with numerous other projects, on drums and vocals. Known for their epic compositions, complex arrangements, and virtuosic musicianship, Transatlantic is a torchbearer for the progressive rock tradition.

Their discography is characterized by concept albums and grandiose multi-part suites, a trend which is exemplified in their releases "The Absolute Universe: The Breath Of Life (Abridged Version)" and "The Absolute Universe: Forevermore (Extended Version)," a pair of albums that showcase two different interpretations of the same material. In their live performances, such as those captured in "The Final Flight: Live At L'Olympia" and the "Live in Paris 2022" series, Transatlantic demonstrates a powerful and dynamic stage presence, taking their complex studio recordings and bringing them to life with energy and precision, much to the delight of their dedicated fan base.
