Paperwater

Paperwater is a Miami-based electronic music duo composed of Eddy Samy and Daygee Kwia. The two met during their high school days while playing football at Miami Sunset Senior High. After going their separate ways for college, they reunited in 2016 to form Paperwater. Their music blends genres like electronic, hip-hop, psychedelic, and R&B, reflecting the diverse cultural influences of Miami. The duo has gained recognition for their energetic and dance-oriented sound, which they describe as a melting pot of cultures, much like Miami itself. They have performed at notable festivals and venues, including III Points and Electric Daisy Carnival Orlando, and have opened for artists like Flying Lotus and Mura Masa.

Paperwater's debut album, *B.E.M.* (Black Electronic Music), was released in 2023, highlighting their mission to bring awareness to Black contributions in electronic music. The duo continues to evolve their sound, incorporating new influences and rhythms, as seen in their upcoming projects like *Club Paperwater*. Their creative process often involves spontaneous ideas, such as the origin of their name, which came about during a casual night out. With a strong presence in Miami and expanding influence in cities like New York, Paperwater is making waves in the electronic music scene with their unique blend of styles and cultural fusion.
